Drake Talks Lil' Wayne Influence

One of the first artists to have a single off the Young Money roster, Drake recently sat down with MTV to speak on what it's like being mentored by the "Best Rapper Alive" Lil' Wayne.

After giving it up to another rapper, Kanye West, for his strong influence, Drake says he had to pay public homage to his boss Lil' Wayne.

"Wayne is another one that...rap-wise, verse-wise...was my favorite," Drake told MTV. "And to be under his wing, to be able to interact with him on a daily basis and talk to him and get information from him, I'm in a blessed position. I have the greatest mentors, the greatest teachers in the world. They all have gradually started to embrace me more and more, so it's a great feeling."

As previously reported by Yo! Raps, Drake is set to embark on a tour with Wayne begining next month.

Rumor has it that both Young Jeezy and Jay-Z are also set to join the tour.

At press time, however, neither artist had issued any statement confirming their participation.
