DJ Envy Remembers Nas Pointing A Gun At Him

The Power 105.1 DJ recalled the time that rapper, Nas, threatened him with a gun recently.

Envy said that he approached Nas to try and give him his mixtape after a performance at Nassau Coliseum.

During an interview with VladTV, Envy said that the exchange did not go as smoothly as planned.

“This was when mixtapes was big. And I was -- and this was when nobody would take my mixtapes,” Envy said. “I mean, I was trying to sell mixtapes to everybody. And at the time Clue was popping and all they wanted was Clue. So, I remember coming out the Coliseum and I seen Nas and I think it was a Lexus. So, I seen him I was like, ‘Oh shit, that’s Nas.’ So, now I got my mixtapes and I’m running up the block. I’m like ‘This is Nas. I’m in Queens.

Nas Ordered To Pay Kelis $51,000 A Month

Wednesday (December 9), Los Angeles Superior Court Judge David S. Cunningham ordered Queensbridge rapper Nas to pay $51,101 a month in spousal and child support to soon-to-be-ex-wife Kelis.

The ruling came after two days of testimony from both musicians, as they each portrayed themselves as cash-strapped. Kelis admitted to inking a new recording contract with Interscope Records for $175,000, but will reportedly only receive $50,000 from that deal with the remainder going to her managers. During cross-examination, she told Mark Kaplan, Nas' attorney, that her comeback career is a far cry from the chart topping fame she experienced with the 2003 single Milkshake. At the time, Kelis' income could not be determined because she has not filed an income tax return in years.

Nas confirmed with his testimony that he would not be releasing a solo album in 2010, but it was unclear if that included his collaboration with Damian Marley, Distant Relatives. He also revealed that he owed $700,000 to his manager and $2.5 million in back taxes to the IRS.

After the hearing, Kaplan said the changes benefit Nas as he will no longer have to pay $13,000 a month for the former couple's Los Angeles home. Kelis has been living at the home with the couple's son, Knight, in recent months and has installed recording equipment at the house.

Kelis' attorney, Laura Wasser, said that she was "thrilled" with the ruling. Neither Nas nor Kelis have personally commented on the ruling as of yet.

Nas Ordered To Pay Kelis Spousal And Child Support

Looks like the former Mrs. Jones will be able to afford to keep it "bossy" after all.

According to the Associated Press, Kelis is set to receive a sizable sum in both spousal and child support payments from her estranged husband. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled Thursday (July 23) that Nas must pay Kelis approximately $44,000 a month in support and an additional $45,000 to pay for her legal costs and fees due to her forensic accountant.

The ruling is yet another blow for the Ether rapper who has suffered a string of misfortune in his private life ranging from the infidelity claims that followed the unexpected divorce filing last April to his alleged ill-timed appearance at a NY hospital which caused him to miss the birth of his son just recently. Overall, the core of Nas' personal nuisance is the clash between him and Kelis concerning their divorce proceedings which has turned bitter because of financial issues. In papers filed with the court, Kelis maintains that Nas "financially abandoned" her during her pregnancy. However, Nas' lawyer claims his client paid covered $30,000 in expenses toward the birth and maintained Kelis' health-insurance costs.

Fortunately for Nas, the court ruling is only temporary. The follow-up hearing is set for September 8 where it will be determined if the amount of monthly support paid to Kelis should be amended.

As of press time, representatives for Kelis' lawyer declined to comment or confirm the information. Nas has yet to comment on the family court ruling but it's almost certain he will appeal the ruling.

Kelis Claims Nas Is Holding Out On Money

Despite Nas' claims of sending money to Kelis to prepare for the upcoming birth of their child, the singer says she still has yet to receive a significant amount.
In paperwork filed with the court on Tuesday (July 14), Kelis claims she hasn't received what Nas is claiming.

"Divorce in April 2009. He has provided me with only a $350 check and $2,500 in gift cards since that date approximately three months ago," a court document reads. "I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of California that the foregoing is true and correct. Executed this 14th day of July, 2009, at New York, New York. Kelis Rogers."

Kelis' claims were in response to documents filed by Nas claiming he only received $4 million for his Def Jam record deal, not $11 million.

"I did not receive even half that amount," he said.

As previously reported, Nas said he only brings in $147,165 a month and agreed to pay $350 for a stroller, $450 for a baby sling, and $1,598 for a crib.

Kelis Claims Nas Has Left Her Broke

Divorces are never easy, but when you are 8 months pregnant and hard up on cash - it's even harder. Kelis claims that her soon-to-be ex-husband, Nas, has done just that-left her penniless while carrying his child.

"I have run out of money", said Kelis, "my survival is based on [Nas'] will at this time. If he does not want to pay for an expense, it does not get paid."

During her 4 year marriage to Nasir Jones, the Milkshake singer grew accustomed to a certain lifestyle. According to TMZ, the hip-hop couple shared five homes, traveled first class and dined at the finest restaurants. Since separating from Nas, Kelis no longer lives in the lap of luxury and that, she says, is problematic.

"There were many expensive pieces [of jewelry] such as a princess-cut diamond tennis bracelet that was recently appraised for $190,000. My engagement ring is an approximately nine-carat cushion-cut diamond solitaire. I have numerous watches...such as Cartier, Rolex, Frank Muller and Chopard," explained the 29 year-old songstress.

Kelis, with the aid of her legal team, is demanding from her estranged husband child support, spousal support, all pregnancy related expenses and half of all medical expenses once the baby is born.

In addition, Kelis wants 3,500$ for a baby nurse and 20,000$ for cribs, strollers and baby supplies.

On his part, Nas has denied Kelis' claims for spousal and child support.

Kelis Divorcing From Nas

After a seven year relationship Nas and Kelis filed for divorce in the beginning of May, even though Kelis was seven months pregnant.

Most recently, she twittered about infidelity and wrote, "This lovely day I would like to touch on cheaters. Super brief! Why be cowardly why not go after what you really want?"

"No seriously I have no patients [sic] for any of it but the problem is women usually blame the women. I am here to say the husband is way more at fault," Kelis continued.

Nas wasn't called out by name but it's obvious that Kelis is talking about her former husband.

The divorce papers states that Kelis has irreconcilable differences as a reason for parting ways with Nas. Rumors are that cheating with a mistress and allegations of verbal and physical abuse were among the key topics responsible behind the Hip-Hop twosomes impending divorce.

In addition to asking for spousal and child support, the Bossy singer is also asking for joint legal and physical custody of their unborn child.

Nas and Kelis were married in 2005 but had been dating since 2002. They first met in 2002 at a MTV Video Music Awards after party thrown by P. Diddy.
