Busta Rhymes: Diddy Help Me Perfect My Swag
During a recent interview with Vlad TV, Busta Rhymes revealed his long history with Diddy and how the mogul helped him with the swag that molded his career.
In a flashback to a studio session with Diddy, Busta recalled the influence of the hip hop taste maker's harsh but true words.
"It was a combination of not really the wider audience, it was more directed towards the women," Busta explained. "Like one day, me, Diddy and Q-Tip were in the studio and I tell people this story on a regular basis, like motherf*cker, Diddy was being a a**hole with me in the studio trying to f*cking pop off joke sh*t. But he said something that stuck with me and Q-Tip was kinda saying the same sh*t to me. And Puff said 'Yo Busta, b*tches don't wanna go rowwl rowwwl like a dungeon dragon with you on every f*cking record. Calm that sh*t down man. Try to spit on a song where you articulate your sh*t clearer and f*cking use your regular voice. What the f*ck is the screaming all the time on the record? B*tches don't find that sh*t sexy.' I was like, 'Yo f*ck you n*gga,' and ultimately, I went home and thought about the sh*t and then I also felt I wasn't gonna just do this sh*t because they told me to do it, I gotta do that sh*t 'cause it feels right to me."
Diddy's word apparently paid off, as Busta has enjoyed a career much longer than most of his counterparts.
His latest project, Back On My B*llsh*t, recently debuted with 59,300 copies sold in the first week, an admirable feat in today's declining traditional music market.

Video of Rapper Trina Stripping!
Just when we thought the video upload sites had taken a break for this week we were hit with another Must See video. The week started out with Spectacular of Pretty Ricky dancing around with red panties, I mean briefs, on YouTube to Chris Brown claiming 'I'm not a monster', and we even got another glimpse of the Hoopz sextape.
Yesterday LiveSteez.com aired a video of rapper Trina, before she was an artist, backup dancing for Trick Daddy. The baddest bitch is seen showing off her dancing skills on stage for one of Trick's performances. You even get to see her on stage with a gang of strippers doing what they do best, 'Lookin Back at it.'

SPECTOR SENTENCED:
The man who created the Wall of Sound will probably be behind prison walls for the rest of his life. Phil Spector was sentenced to 19 years to life for the murder of 40-year-old actress Lana Clarkson in 2003. He was convicted in April of second-degree murder by an L.A. jury in a second trial after the first ended in a deadlock in 2007. Spector must spend at least 19 years in jail before being eligible for parole. The legendary producer/ songwriter denied the charge, but did not testify at either trial. He has been held in custody since his April 13 conviction after being free on bail following his arrest in 2003. Prosecutors insisted the shooting was part of a pattern of gunplay and violence that Spector displayed toward women over the past 20 years, saying he had a problem with rage and was "a bully.” Clarkson's family has also filed a wrongful death civil suit against Spector. His affairs are now being handled by his fourth wife, model/actress Rachelle Short, 30 years his junior. The producer's attorneys have said they will file an appeal. (5/29p)

Def Jam Alumni in "Top-Secret" Talks About Working Together Again at WMG, According
We were right about the Roc Nation-to-Sony Music part, but it looks like Jay-Z may have other plans for his own music.
The N.Y. Daily News’ Gatecrasher column reported this morning that the superstar rapper/entrepreneur is eyeing a move to Warner Music Group, reuniting him with his fellow Def Jam alumnus Lyor Cohen.
The deal, which would affiliate Jay-Z with Atlantic, could make him one of the richest and most powerful men in music, the story asserts.
A well-placed industry source tells Gatecrasher that Jay has been taking top-secret meetings with his old pals and former managers Cohen and Kevin Liles. Topics of the hush-hush conversations have included giving Jay his own record label at WMG, tentatively to be called the Carter Music Group.
"Jay knows Lyor and Kevin from back when they all worked together at Def Jam, and he obviously wants to work something out with his friends," a source told the reporters. "He wants to get the dream team back together. There have been a few whiffs of a reunion in the past, but only now—and very privately—is something finally starting to happen.
"This is big in hip-hop,” the insider continued. “These are three of the most powerful men in music, who might be working together, and there's no question the success they'll have as a team will be huge."
But Cohen and Liles failed in their attempts to convince Jay to bring Roc Nation to WMG, the story stated, adding that Jay has chosen to release The Blueprint 3, the album he bought back from IDJ for a reported $5 million, through Live Nation this fall.
Said another music-biz insider: "Jay's deal with Live Nation is massive, but if he were to cut a deal with WMG/Atlantic, he'd make even more headlines. Jay-Z, Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles are all brand names. They're the industry's heavy hitters, and the combination would bring them a lot of attention. They would be unstoppable. Jay himself is the most successful rapper-turned-businessman out there."
A rep at WMG would not comment; Jay-Z's team didn't return Gatecrasher’s calls

Crazed Fan Almost Gets Ahold of Beyonce
After her performance at the O2 Arena in London, England, Beyonce headed to Greenwich's IndigO2 Club where her sister Solonge was performing. The 27 year old singer was being escorted by security backstage to her sister's dressing room with her hubby Jay-Z when a crazed fan got too close for comfort. Somehow the man got into the backstage waiting area by breaking into a backstage door. The London Paper reported that Beyonce was at the IndigO2 club for the 'I am Sasha Fierce' Tour after party.
According to a witness: “A man barged through the backstage door just as BeyoncĂ© was walking past.
“He cried out her name with his arms outstretched before security bundled him back out again. He said he wanted to see Jay-Z to give him a demo tape.”
Not exactly the right way to get Jay's attention. Whatever happened to the old school procedure of just dropping it off at the record label?

South Rapper J. Money's "1st Name Last Name" In High Demand
24-year old rapper J. Money's is riding high in his hometown of Atlanta, GA with his new single, 1st Name Last Name, being one of the most requested songs on the top 8 at 8 on Atlanta's V103 for the last 8 weeks, its been in the top 3 for three weeks and have reached #1 most requested throughout the weeks and is still on the countdown. V103's Greg Street says of 1st Name Last Name, "It's still big on the streets and on radio in Atlanta and it's spreading like wildfire."
Signed to Bases Loaded Records, J. Money entered the game 16 months ago after managing Teezie Dollar who was apart of the popular local group, The Truth. "Prior to 16 months ago I had no intention on rapping, just managing. But as I stayed in the studio with Teezie, I got that itch. I began to learn the formula of rapping and felt that I had a message that needed to be heard - the futuristic message," states J. Money.
J. Money is ready let the world know exactly what being futuristic is about when his debut album releases Fall 2009. The video for the hit single 1st Name Last Name is set to be shot early June and Bases Loaded is gearing up to release the second single from his upcoming album This Is How We Play featuring Meany from the Shop Boyz within the coming weeks.
"For me, it's futuristic not to only tell your story on record but to also to reach out and spend time with the kids so they can get the whole picture. It's important to me to personally tell them about my life and how I turned it around from selling drugs, doing drugs, robbing and stealing to spending 4 years behind bars to now. I want to let them know they don't have to settle for a life of crime or drugs. They can make it doing the right things. I want them to truly know that, " exclaims J. Money.
This Is How We Play will be available in stores this Fall.
Collabo Album Between Eminem & 50 Cent In The Works?
DJ Whoo Kid revealed that Eminem and 50 Cent may work on an entire collabo project in the future.
"They been talking about that shit for years," Whoo Kid said. "We even talked about it in the mixtape format. It's an incredible situation [that] I hope one day goes down. Who wouldn't want to see that? I don't know what they gonna call that. I remember Em joked about that, 'Let's call it Ebony and Ivory.' Society is gonna have to force these guys to do it ... the scheduling, Em's album, 50's album - it's all scheduling. We've talked about it the last three, four years. You would want to see it, right?"
"I don't think Em and 50 will ever get it together to do an album," journalist Elliott Wilson told MTV Mixtape Daily. "I know there was talk of [a joint album] when 50 first blew up and it was gonna be called 'Black and White'. I personally love that title," the founder and CEO of RapRadar.com continued. "I'm sure there are plenty of unreleased records they've done and some kinda compilation could be released one day. But as far as a full-fledged album recorded together, that's doubtful. Then again, this is hip-hop, so what the fuck do we know?"
Whoo Kid added that when Em and 50 are in studio, they push each other to the next level.
"The element of Dre being there, too, brings their bars up," Whoo Kid said. "They're both excited, crazy. They're already excited with each other. You see the verses are way up there, the creativity is way up there. 50 is influenced by [Em's] creativity where he crosses the line. The only time you see 50 buggin' out is when they're together. Whereas when 50's solo, he's creative too, but into the gangsta world, the thug shit. Em showed him there's other lines out there you can fuck with.
"In the beginning it was business," Whoo Kid continued about 50 and Em's relationship. "They naturally grew into a family-type bond. 50 hangs more with Eminem and he's more connected with Eminem than Dre. Not to say 50 and Dre don't get along - they're really cool, they're friends and everything, but it's mostly business. But 50's gonna go to Eminem's wedding, 50's gonna go to Eminem's barbecue, they're gonna go on vacation together. They're more into the family shit."
"Although I've never been around Eminem and 50 together," Wilson told MTV Mixtape Daily, "I believe that their friendship is built on loyalty and trust. I think 50 is Em's biggest fan and supporter who always shows his appreciation to Marshall for enabling him to build an incredible life. He doesn't even know how to not show that gratitude. And 50's probably one of the few people in this world Em can truly confide in."
Russell Simmons Standing Up For Gay Rights?
Despite hip hop's brutally obvious aversion to homosexuality, one of the game's biggest players, Russell Simmons, is going against the grain to lobby for gay rights.
Simmons put on his activist hat and took to a blog on Globalgrind.com (which was subsequently republished by The Huffington Post) to voice his opinion on the California Supreme Court's decision to uphold Proposition 8, a change to the state constitution that says only marriages between opposite sex couples will be recognized as valid.
"If President Johnson had to take a vote, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 would not have passed," Simmons wrote. "If Congress took a vote in 1920, women may still not have the right to vote today. And if President Lincoln went to the polls, blacks would definitely have endured many more years of slavery. We trusted our government to make the right decision and protect the minority, and yesterday we, as a nation, failed."
Simmons went on to compare the struggles of gay Americans to that of the civil rights movement and challenge African Americans to the similarities themselves.
"As an African-American, I urge my own people to take a deep look at our own struggles and not wish them upon anyone else," he wrote. "Simply, civil rights for all is about being connected as humans, united, tolerant, loving and brave."
Simmons concluded his statement on an optimistic note, however, saying that he ultimately has "faith in people and our government" that the "right thing" will be done.
Scott Storch Files For Bankruptcy
Just when it seemed Scott Storch's luck would be turning around the former top producer has filed for bankruptcy.
According to TMZ, Storch filed paperwork in U.S. Bankruptcy Court indicating that he owes $58,077.37 to over a dozen creditors in 7 states.
Although more than the average American salary, Storch's debt is minor in comparison to his estimated $70 million net worth in 2006.
Storch was once one of the industry's most sought after producers, having had a hand in music for Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Chris Brown.
As previously reported by Yo! Raps, Storch was also recently ordered to pay a former business partner $750,000.
He is also reportedly having difficulty paying child support and is facing the potential foreclosure of his $10.5 millon Miami mansion.
At press time, he had yet to issue any public comment on his financial troubles.

Kanye West "Paranoid" About Video Leaks
Having taken issue with almost everything else in existance, Kanye West has set his sights on the online leak of his music video for Paranoid.
Armed with claims that the leaked version of the video was an incomplete product, Ye voiced his frustration via his blog.
"It hurts me to see the old and very wrong version of the paranoid video get leaked all over the net while I was on an 11-hour flight and couldn't do anything about it," Ye wrote. "It's just frustrating when this stuff happens because I really care about the product and since videos never get played any way you might as well tweak them and make them as special as possible. The version that got leaked from the camera phone last week is at least a little closer to the final product. Thank-you everybody for your support but that video was not up to my standards."
The video, featuring a gyrating, scantily clad Rihanna, reportedly leaked online yesterday (May 28).
Life Of Harlem Gangster Bumpy Johnson To Be Portrayed In Biopic
Just weeks after the passing of Mayme Hatcher Johnson, widow of the legendary Harlem gangster, Bumpy Johnson, Havenotz Entertainment has optioned the film rights to her book, Harlem Godfather: The Rap On My Husband, Ellsworth "Bumpy" Johnson.
"Growing up, I heard about the exploits of Bumpy Johnson. Not just about his criminal activities, but also all of the good he did in his community, and how his community loved him," said Sardar "Candyman 187" Khan, CEO of Havenotz Entertainment, when announcing the optioning. "When I found out that the film rights to this book were available I was ecstatic."
"This is a man whose history is intertwined with the history of Harlem. His acquaintances with people like Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Lena Horne, Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, and even Malcolm X are spoken of to this day" Khan said, adding that he hopes to team with major production companies to make the movie happen. "This is a story that just has to be brought to the silver screen."
Bumpy Johnson was born in South Carolina in 1905, but moved to Harlem in 1919 and was soon involved in the Harlem underworld. In 1932 he fought a well-documented gang war with Jewish mobster Dutch Schultz over the control of the numbers racket. After Schultz's death, Bumpy reigned as the Godfather Of Harlem; but in the words of the late famed African-American historian John Henrick Clarke (who knew Johnson), "Bumpy may have been a gangster, but he was a gangster with a social conscience. He may have taken from the community, but he was one of the few who also gave back." Johnson died of a heart attack in 1968.
In 2008 Mrs. Johnson co-authored Harlem Godfather: The Rap On My Husband, Ellsworth "Bumpy" Johnson. It's the first and only biography of Bumpy Johnson.
"There've been other movies that have depictions of Bumpy Johnson, but all of those characterizations were written without anyone even talking to people who actually knew him," said Khan. "As soon as I read Mrs. Johnson's book, I knew it was important to get the truth on film. People will now know the real story about this larger than life figure, and not a fictitious character that writers came up with because they didn't know who to turn to for the truth."
Slaughterhouse To Release Debut Album On July 7
On July 7th 2009, E1 Music is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated debut album from Slaughterhouse -- the Hip-Hop super-group featuring four of the most lyrical MCs in the game -- Joell Ortiz, Royce Da 5'9", Joe Budden and Crooked I.
The group came together only 10 short months ago when Joe Budden was working on a song for his Halfway House album and enlisted the services of Crooked I, Joell Ortiz and Royce Da 5'9" for a song called Slaughterhouse. Inspired by the vibe of track and the immediate chemistry of the four rappers, a plan was immediately made to form the super-group. Several songs and a handful of viral videos later only created increased demand and curiosity from fans. Hip-Hop heads demanded to hear more! And now they'll be able to.
The fearsome foursome is now in the studio recording songs for its official upcoming debut album. The album will feature production by The Alchemist, Streetrunner, DJ Khalil and Denaun Porter.
Among working track titles of songs set to be included on the album are Not Tonight, Microphone, Number 1 and Cuckoo.
Slaughterhouse member Royce Da 5'9" weighs in, "This group is really something special and this summer I'm excited to show the world what we have to offer! If you thought that we were just gonna release a few tracks to the net and then disappear you are in for a very rude awakening."
Joell Ortiz adds, "We did an entire album in 6 days! When you genuinely love what you're doing everything is effortless. It was like a long party. I can't wait for the fans to experience this album."
Alan Grunblatt, Executive VP/GM of E1 Music, offers, "Slaughterhouse is the most exciting new group to hit the hip hop scene in many years. I'm thrilled to be working with old friends Royce, Joell, Crooked and new friend Joe Budden."
Slaughterhouse will be touring this summer, on both the Rock The Bells tour and on a club tour around the RTB's dates.
First Live Slaughterhouse (Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Royce 5'9" and Crooked I) show at SOBs
